Shane Cox -
My name is Shane and I am the lead pastor of this community of faith. I bring vision and direction to our faith community and oversee the preaching and teaching for our church. I lead the staff and ministry leaders, and give spiritual direction and support to our body of Christ.
I have been married to my beautiful wife (Heather) since the summer of 1998. Together, we have two children whom we are trying our best to raise as followers of Jesus. We fail often, but we are forgiven always.
I had the privilege of attending Briercrest College and graduated with a B.A. in Biblical studies. I also had the honor of attending Grand Rapids Theological Seminary and graduated with a M.A. in Intercultural ministries (missions) with an emphasis on church planting.
Take Hold Church started as an in home Bible study in our two bedroom apartment in the summer of 2009. It has been a wonderful and crazy ride! I cannot think of any other thing I would want to do. I love my vocation! I am humbled and blessed to be the shepherd of this authentic church family.
I am always up for great coffee and conversation so please feel free to reach out and we can schedule a time that works best for us to dialogue and get to know each other better.
Heather Cox -
My name is Heather and I oversee the children's ministry at Take Hold Church. I have been working with children for over twenty years as a Kindergarten teacher, Preschool teacher, and now I am a self employed, licensed in home daycare. I love to not only oversee the kids ministry, but I also love to teach the children about the love of Jesus and His Word.
I graduated from Rochester Community College with an Associate degree in Child Development and then graduated from Hope International University with a B.S. in Human Development and education. I'm currently looking to purse a M.A. in teaching with an Early Childhood emphasis.
I've been married to the wild and wacky Shane since 1998. Together, we have two beautiful children Elijah and Abby. Shane started Take Hold as a Bible study in our apartment and here we are many years later. It's been an amazing journey and God has always been faithful.
